Objectives
Eight specific objectives take REWASH from a baseline of textile microfibers to a validated, assessed prototype.
- SO1
Generate a robust baseline on MP/MF characteristics using simulated and real textile wastewater.
- SO2
Develop and optimize a solar-driven PEC module for MP/MF degradation, targeting ≥30% wt. PET and ≥10% wt. PA degradation after 12h.
- SO3
Design structured SynComs capable of transforming PEC intermediates into value-added polyketide scaffolds, targeting ≥60% target compound specificity.
- SO4
Develop bioelectrochemical systems achieving ≥80% COD removal and ≥70% nutrient recovery.
- SO5
Deploy multi-scale computational modeling, including DFT, spatiotemporal GEMs and process models.
- SO6
Validate a coupled PEC-SynComs-BES prototype continuous operation for ≥200 h using real industrial wastewater.
- SO7
Conduct comprehensive techno-economic assessment (TEA), life cycle assessment (LCA) and safety evaluations.
- SO8
Maximize impact via communication, dissemination and exploitation management, and EIC Challenge Portfolio collaboration.
